This section introduces prompt typology and explains how you can incorporate each of the prompt types into your language learning.
🗺Choose Your Own Adventure
You can ask ChatGPT to create a “choose your own adventure” output pertaining to a cultural scenario or language survival task. For example, you could ask it to create a decision branch for catching a taxi in Seoul, or ordering food in Chinese. Prompts should follow this format:

Create a "choose your own adventure" in English about choosing something to eat from a menu in America. The player is allergic to peanuts, seafood, dairy, and gluten. This means they cannot have foods that contain these foods as ingredients. Please clearly state the options for the player to choose at the end of each page. Each option should correspond with another page, and you should explicitly state the page that the option corresponds with so that the reader can choose their next path. Use a "pages" format where the "player" can switch to a different "page" when they make a certain decision in the story. Do not create any contradictions in your story; remember what you are allergic to. Do not create any duplicate pages in your story where things happen that are very similar to another page. Create a new scenario for one of the pages if the same thing happens on two different pages. Limit each "page" to be under 100 words each. Bold each page title (such as "Page 1", "Page 2", "Page 3") for reading clarity, and also label the page based on what happens on the page. Also, please use intermediate level English when writing the adventure. "Intermediate level" English means that the language used has slightly complex grammar, somewhat lengthy sentences, and slightly infrequent vocabulary words.

🤔Situational Language Actions
You can prompt ChatGPT to check if the language you would like to use in a certain context is accurate to the language action you are trying to achieve. For example, if your boss invites you to the company dinner party but you already have plans that night, you can ask ChatGPT for the best way to politely decline the invitation:

You can prompt ChatGPT to have a conversation with you. By assigning the chatbot a role, you can have a conversation with someone of a certain background. For example, if you would like to be more comfortable with conversing in professional settings, you can ask ChatGPT to assume the role of a workplace supervisor and then proceed from there. Or, if you know you are going to order off a menu using only the target language, you can practice that scenario with ChatGPT before you try it in the real world. The following is an example of a roleplay done with ChatGPT:
